Hyundai Motor Presents First Look at Truck with Fuel Cell Powertrain

Hyundai Motor will present the concept of a fuel-cell-powered truck at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 in Hanover, Germany. Its market introduction is planned to take place already in 2019 in selected European countries. During the IAA Commercial Vehicles exhibition, Hyundai will present specifications of the fuel cell electric truck as well as future plans for market introduction.

The design of the innovative commercial vehicle is clearly distinct from the one of conventional trucks. The simple and clean appearance underlines the eco-friendly nature of the vehicle. Owing to a spoiler and a side protector, the design promotes not only an innovative look, but also efficient aerodynamics.

Already today, Hyundai is among the leading manufacturers of fuel cell vehicles. In 2012, Hyundai presented the world’s first mass-produced fuel cell electric passenger car, the ix35 Fuel Cell. A second milestone was reached last year, when Hyundai introduced the NEXO, its second fuel cell electric passenger car.

More information about the fuel cell truck can be found in Hyundai’s official press release.
