
HyFIVE – a mobile H2 storage
The modular hydrogen storage system “HyFIVE” is designed for efficient transport and storage of hydrogen, enabling flexible, reliable, and scalable supply across various applications. It allows refueling of up to 45 kg at 350 bar at conventional hydrogen refueling stations and supports both mobile and stationary use cases.

Key advantages
- Designed for transport with light-duty vehicles (<3.5 tons)
- Only requires a B/BE driving license with basic ADR certification
- When filled to 350 bar, the HyFIVE can transport up to 45 kg of hydrogen
- Optional integrated supply panel provides hydrogen for fuel cell applications at an output pressure of 10–20 bar
- Swap-body design allows quick removal via twist-lock mountings, enabling flexible use of the same vehicle platform

Swap Body System
The HyFIVE hydrogen storage system features a smart swap-body design using standard ISO twistlocks, allowing the entire module to be quickly loaded or removed via crane or forklift. Holding 45 kg of hydrogen at 350 bar, it works as both a mobile transport solution and a stationary energy asset.
A compatible flatbed is mountable on the same 4 ISO twistlocks as the HyFIVE, installable by forklift, and fully customizable. The required ISO twistlocks are developed by H2 Energy and procured by the customer in coordination with H2 Energy.
